Jim Hodges, Look and See, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park (Southwest tip of Manhattan, Two West Street @ Battery Place)

Look and See, Jim Hodges' powerful sculpture commissioned for Creative Time's Art on the Plaza, marks a major new direction for the artist. Working with steel for the first time (9 tons of it), he created an artwork that beautifully transforms the experience of Lower Manhattan. The seductive form entices visitors to physically engage with it and see their own warped reflections combined with the competing images of the urban skyscrapers and nature in Battery Park.
